Dr. Kimberly Turner, a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, opened the only solo, female-owned obstetrics/gynecology practice in Columbia in January, 2005. Prior to opening her practice, Dr. Turner was a member of a group OB/GYN practice in Baltimore for nine years.

Delivering more than 1500 babies in those nine years, Dr. Turner finds it particularly rewarding to work with a woman or couple through every stage of pregnancy—from planning to have a family to delivering a new bundle of joy (or multiples). She has also developed a specialty with high-risk pregnancies.

Dr. Turner is affiliated with Howard County General Hospital and Mercy Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and is a member of the American Medical Association. She has appeared as a requested guest on The Woman’s Doctor (WBAL TV news) and continues to give many presentations to women through various organizations, schools, and churches.

Raised and educated in Howard County, Dr. Turner is pleased to return to her home town to provide services to women of all ages. After graduating from Howard High School, and recognizing an interest in science and helping people, she pursued pre-med at the University of Maryland College Park. She earned her MD degree from Duke University Medical School and completed her residency at the University of Maryland Hospital. She was particularly inspired to pursue medicine by her third grade teacher and Dr. Kline Price, who founded the oldest solo OB/GYN practice in Columbia.

Dr. Turner is married to the Reverend Dr. Robert Turner who is pastor of St. John Baptist Church in Columbia. The Turners are parents of two children, Joshua and Jessica. In her “spare time,” she enjoys exercising and playing the piano.
